The qualifiers for that year’s international convention went to Istanbul, Turkey, a trip which gave them cherished memories of fun and unique experiences.
They visited the Spice and Grand Bazaars, which are must-go places for tourists, and got the chance to buy Turkish sweets and souvenirs. Then it was a tour to the famous landmarks of the city. They even went on a cruise along the coastline and a hot air balloon ride.
It was a first for most of the qualifiers in having Turkish cuisine, with lamb featured most dominantly in the meals. The trip ended with a gala dinner, where the qualifiers were encouraged to dress in Turkish-inspired style. They were entertained with traditional Turkish dances, and got the chance to participate in games and contests too.
It was without a doubt, a trip that exposed them to a new culture and that created smiles on their faces in reminiscing their time there.
