This trip was from 6 to 11 March 2017, a week before the first school holiday period. We spent 6 days and 5 nights there.
We visited a few parts of Taiwan, which made the trip extremely interesting and memorable. We first went to Yilan, and on the way to Taipei, toured Jiufen and Shifen too.
We gained some knowledge in Yilan’s history at Lanyang Museum and also enjoyed a unique experience with spring onions, having the opportunities to harvest them and then make pancakes, amongst the highlights there.
In Jiufen, we had the opportunity to try different types of Taiwan’s famed street snacks, while in Shifen, sky lanterns waited to be released, bearing our wishes and hopes.
We were treated to Taiwan’s geological landscape at Yehliu Geopark, and came across Taiwan’s flora gems at Yangming Mountain National Park, as we neared the capital. We were especially astounded by the Sakura blossoms.
We headed to Addiction Aquatic Development for lunch, which presented us with endless choices to satisfy our gourmet cravings. Taipei greeted us with its local food souvenirs that appealed to the tourist part in us.
We spent our time in Taipei at leisure, filling up our travel memory boxes and our stomachs. We stayed at Regent Taipei hotel, feeling like VIPs with its luxurious atmosphere and amenities, before ending our trip at Gloria Outlets for some branded goods shopping.
